This report shows the total number of patients treated in an emergency department not transferred to an inpatient bed and whose length of stay was equal to or less than 4 hours. Totals are for all Victorian public hospitals with an emergency department.
Emergency department patients who were not transferred to an inpatient bed and emergency treatment is no longer required. This means patients whose departure status indicates they departed to one of the following: home, left after advice regarding treatments, correctional/custodial facility, mental health residential facility or aged care residency.
