The proportion of non-urgent (Category 3) patients admitted for elective surgery within 365 days. Patients who are 'not ready for surgery' and those waiting for a non-surgical procedure are excluded.
Elective surgery is surgery that, in the opinion of the treating clinician, is necessary and admission for which can be delayed for at least twenty-four hours.
As part of Statewide and/or National agreements, targets have been set for some key performance indicators. These annual targets are shown to enable comparative achievements to be illustrated.
